It's a Small World
We discovered just how small our world is when we visited the D-Day Beaches. The pictures above are of a soldier from my hometown of Moreauville. They did misspell the name of the town but there was no mistaking the soldier's name. I was able to find out that the picture is used in a calendar sold in the gift shop. I wanted to purchase one for Mr. Luddie's family but, unfortunately, they were sold out. So, I took these pictures and emailed them to my sister-in-law who lives in Moreauville and asked her to try to get them to his family. A few days later I received a lovely email from his daughter. She is a French teacher in St. Landry parish. She was so appreciative and wanted to know all about the picture and it's whereabouts. I think she is planning a trip to France sometime in the near future and will visit the museum where her dad's picture is hanging. Hopefully, the calendar will be available then. What were the chances of finding this picture in the thousands and thousands we saw in all the museums we visited. It really is a small world.
